The medDispense® E series Access Control from TouchPoint Medical removes keys from the equation. It retrofits onto the cabinets you already have, gives staff badge access, and records every entry.
The system pairs an interactive wireless latch, which has a built-in RFID reader and an E-Paper display, with management software. The latch connects wirelessly to the management server, so reporting, system management, and user management all happen in one place.
Key features and benefits
- Badge access, no keys. Staff badge in to open the lock, so there are no keys to lose, share, or hunt down. That frees nurses to spend more time with patients.
- A full audit trail. Every access is tied to a specific user. Reports show who has been in each cabinet, supporting compliance tracking.
- Browser-based user management. Administrators control who can open each cabinet from a web browser.
- Open-door alerts. An audible alert sounds when a door is left open.
- Retrofits existing cabinets. The lock installs on wood, plastic, or metal doors from 1 mm to 23 mm thick, mounted horizontally or vertically. It can also extend access control to cabinets beside a medDispense® automated dispensing cabinet.
- Wireless and low-maintenance. Each latch runs on three AA batteries with an expected life of about one year in normal use and connects through a TouchPoint Medical Bluetooth® low energy hub.
